Another failed marketing attempt to spin the organic compound known as bisphenol-A (BPA) as something hip and cool!

This cartoon was inspired by recently reading a few more articles about BPA in our food and drinking water.

BPA is commonly used to line the interior of cans to keep the contents from touching and corroding the metal. The problem is that BPA is also a synthetic estrogen and the  health consequences of ingesting this compound aren’t extremely well known. Acidic foods like tomato sauce can cause it to leech from the can walls into the food.

Fun, fun!
